THAT Council receive the staff report on Strong Mayor Powers overview to take effect in the Town of Cobourg on May 1, 2025 for information purposes; and FURTHER THAT Council direct Staff to review the various Council policies and by-laws now that the Town of Cobourg is a Strong Mayor municipality and provide recommendations on amendments where necessary for Council review and consideration; and FURTHER THAT Council requests a Mayoral directive to indicate if the Mayor of the Town of Cobourg will retain or delegate any options outlined in the Strong Mayor’s Act.

THAT leave be granted to introduce By-law 020-2025 and to dispense with the reading of the By-law by the Municipal Clerk to confirm the proceedings of Council of the Town of Cobourg at its Special Council Meeting held on April 30, 2025 and the same be considered read and passed and that the Mayor and the Municipal Clerk sign the same and the Seal of the Corporation be thereto affixed.
