Summer Council

THAT Council confirm the agenda, as circulated.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT leave be granted to introduce By-law No. 047-2026 to By-law No. 052-2026 and to dispense with the reading of the by-laws by the Municipal Clerk and that the same be considered read and passed and that the Mayor and the Municipal Clerk sign the same and the Seal of the Corporation be thereto affixed.

THAT Council meet in Closed Session at 7:27 p.m. in accordance with the Municipal Act, 2001 regarding:  personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees (s. 239 (2) (b));  litigation or potential litigation, including matters before administrative tribunals, affecting the municipality or local board (s. 239 (2) (e));  advice that is subject to solicitor-client privilege, including communications necessary for that purpose (s. 239 (2) (f));  a trade secret or scientific, technical, commercial or financial information that belongs to the municipality or local board and has monetary value or potential monetary value (s. 239 (2) (j)).

THAT Council direct Staff to bring a By-law to the September 23, 2026 Regular Meeting to appoint the following individual to the Accessibility Advisory Committee:  Hank Murray

THAT Council direct Staff to bring a By-law to the September 23, 2026 Regular Meeting to appoint the following individuals to the Joint Compliance Audit Committee:  Janet Battersby  Ophelia Chang  Marty Gobin  William Graham  Kelly Gravelle  Patrick Lowe  Bonnie Lutes

THAT Council direct Staff to bring a By-law to the September 23, 2026 Regular Meeting to appoint the following individual to the Downtown Business Improvement Area Board of Management:  Steven G. Cosens

THAT Council reappoint Fred Clifford to the Holdco Board for a period of 3 years from January 1, 2027 to December 31, 2029.

THAT leave be granted to introduce By-law No. 053-2026 and By-law No. 054-2026 and to dispense with the reading of the By-law by the Municipal Clerk to confirm the proceedings of Council of the Town of Cobourg at its Regular Summer Council Meeting and Regular Summer Council Meeting #2 held on August 26, 2026 and the same be considered read and passed and that the Mayor and the Municipal Clerk sign the same and the Seal of the Corporation be thereto affixed.
