Cobourg Heritage Advisory Committee

THAT the Committee approve the September 16, 2024, agenda.

THAT the Committee approve the May 22, 2024, minutes.

THAT the Committee receive the Memo from the Director of Planning and Development for information purposes.

THAT the Committee supports staff recommendation to request outstanding items 1 through 6 to be updated in the original Cultural Heritage Impact Assessment, as outlined within the peer review document, dated July 10, 2024, prepared by LHC Heritage Planning & Archaeology Inc. FURTHER THAT the Committee supports the proposed approach of documentation of the existing building located at 66 Swayne Street. OR FURTHER THAT the Committee does not support the proposed approach and requests the property be designated through Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act. Amended Moved by James Young Motion To Amend THAT the Committee supports staff recommendation to request outstanding items 1 through 6 to be updated in the original Cultural Heritage Impact Assessment, as outlined within the peer review document, dated July 10, 2024, prepared by LHC Heritage Planning & Archaeology Inc.; and FURTHER THAT the peer review returns back to the Committee with the new information before going to Council for the potential designation.

THAT the Committee supports staff recommendation to request outstanding items 1 through 6 to be updated in the original Cultural Heritage Impact Assessment, as outlined within the peer review document, dated July 10, 2024, prepared by LHC Heritage Planning & Archaeology Inc.; FURTHER THAT the peer review returns back to the Committee with the new information before going to Council for the potential designation.

THAT the Committee receive the summary of Heritage Permits approved by staff for information purposes.

THAT the Committee receive the verbal update from the Director of Planning and Development regarding updates to the Heritage Permit By-law for information purposes.

THAT the Committee recommend to Council: THAT Planning staff have reviewed the proposed detached garage structure at 246 Mathew Street and concluded that this addition would be compatible with the character of the existing main dwelling and conform with the West Heritage Conservation District (HCD) Plan; and FURTHER THAT Heritage Permit application #HP-2024-014, submitted by Pauline Jackie Dillion, be approved, subject to the finalization of details by staff; and FURTHER THAT Council endorse the Cobourg Heritage Advisory Committee’s recommendation to approve Heritage Permit application HP-2024-014 for the proposed detached garage structure situated at 246 Mathew Street.
